Moses

Parted the sea

Moses is the central prophet of the Hebrew Bible, who led the Israelites out of Egyptian slavery and received the Ten Commandments on Mount Sinai.

The name has become shorthand for a liberator or lawgiver: He saw himself as a Moses for his people.

Holy Moses! is a mild oath expressing surprise. (Lowercase moses refers to a type of basket for infants, from the biblical story of baby Moses in the bulrushes.)
