Pentateuch

Genesis through Deuteronomy

The Pentateuch is the first five books of the Hebrew Bible and Christian Old Testament: Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers, and Deuteronomy.

Also called the Torah or the Five Books of Moses, these texts form the foundation of Jewish law and narrative.

The term comes from Greek for "five scrolls."
