Book of Mormon

Golden plates' translation

The Book of Mormon is a sacred text of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and related denominations.

According to Mormon belief, the prophet Joseph Smith translated it in 1830 from golden plates revealed to him by an angel.

The text presents itself as an ancient record of peoples who migrated from the Near East to the Americas.
