hobbyists
Leisure activity pursuers
Hobbyists are people who pursue an activity for pleasure rather than professionally.
The term often carries a slight dismissiveness when contrasted with serious practitioners: hobbyists tinkering in their garages, just a bunch of hobbyists.
But hobbyist communities—in photography, woodworking, amateur radio, gaming—can develop remarkable expertise.
The forum is frequented by hobbyists and professionals alike.
