wakesurf

Endless wave sport

Wakesurfing is riding the wave created by a boat's wake, typically without being towed by a rope after the initial start.

The rider drops the rope once up and surfs the endless wave the boat generates: We spent the afternoon wakesurfing behind the ski boat.

The verb wakesurf and noun wakesurfer follow naturally.
