ollie
Handsfree board leap
An ollie is a skateboarding trick where the rider pops the board into the air without using their hands, achieved by snapping the tail down while sliding the front foot forward.
It's the foundational trick for most aerial skateboard maneuvers: I spent weeks learning to ollie before I could kickflip.
The trick is named after skateboarder Alan "Ollie" Gelfand, who invented it in the late 1970s. (Capitalized Ollie is a given name.)
