fin

Aquatic steering blade

A fin is a blade-like appendage attached to a main body.

Archetypal fins grow from the spines of fish, but things that look like this also get the name, like a component on an aircraft extending from the fuselage, a structure on the tail of a bomb, or blade-like devices that swimmers and divers wear on their feet.

In slang, a fin is a five-dollar bill.
