stance
Where you stand
Stance is how you position your body, especially your feet and legs, when standing or preparing for action: a batter's stance, a golfer's stance.
Extended to mean a mental position—your attitude or viewpoint on an issue: What's your stance on the new policy?
To take a stance is to commit to a position, often publicly.
