uterus
Pregnancy's housing organ
The uterus is the organ in female mammals where offspring develop before birth—the womb.
It's a muscular, pear-shaped structure in the pelvic cavity where a fertilized egg implants and grows.
Medical terms use the Latin form: uterine cancer, uterine lining.
The plural is uteri or uteruses.
