fundus
Hollow organ's base
The fundus is the base or bottom of a hollow organ, specifically the part farthest from its opening.
In medicine, the term appears most often in eye examinations, where the fundus is the interior back surface of the eye including the retina: The doctor examined the fundus for signs of diabetic retinopathy.
The fundus of the stomach is its rounded upper portion; the fundus of the uterus is its top.
