urethra
Body's drainage tube
The urethra is the tube that carries urine from the bladder out of the body.
In males, it also serves as the passage for semen during ejaculation and runs through the penis.
In females, the urethra is much shorter and opens above the vaginal opening.
The doctor inserted a catheter into the urethra.
