politicos
Government power players
Politicos is the plural of politico, an informal and often slightly dismissive term for politicians or people actively involved in politics.
The word carries a hint of insider dealing or political maneuvering: The politicos in Washington are more concerned with reelection than reform.
It suggests someone who lives and breathes politics, sometimes at the expense of principle.
