personas

Adopted social identities

Personas is the plural of persona—a role, character, or public image someone presents.

The word often implies a distinction between one's authentic self and the face shown to others: She maintains separate personas for work and social media.

In marketing and design, personas are fictional user profiles representing target audiences: We developed three customer personas for the campaign.
