pipefitting
Connecting water lines
Pipefitting is the trade of installing and maintaining piping systems that carry liquids, gases, or steam—in buildings, industrial plants, and ships.
A pipefitter cuts, bends, and joins pipes, often working with high-pressure systems.
The term also refers to the connectors themselves: elbows, tees, couplings, and other pieces that join pipe sections.
He learned pipefitting in the navy.
