oil platform
Ocean drilling station
An oil platform is a large offshore structure used to drill for and extract petroleum from beneath the ocean floor.
Also called an oil rig or offshore platform, these installations range from fixed structures anchored to the seabed to floating vessels positioned over deep-water wells.
Workers typically spend weeks at a time on the platform.
