helipad

Rooftop landing circle

A helipad is a designated landing area for helicopters—a flat, marked surface where they can take off and land.

Helipads appear on hospital roofs for emergency medical transport, on offshore oil platforms, and atop tall buildings.

Unlike a heliport, which is a full facility with services, a helipad is just the landing surface itself.
