motion capture
Digital performance tracking
Motion capture is a technology that records the movements of people or objects and translates them into digital animation.
Sensors or cameras track an actor's body, face, or limbs, allowing animators to create realistic movement in video games, films, and virtual reality: The dragon's movements were created using motion capture from a dancer.
Often shortened to mocap.
