mill
Where flour originates
A mill is a place where raw materials are processed into products using machinery, especially machinery that grinds.
Wheat is ground to flour in a mill; a steel mill produces steel from raw materials.
By extension, any place that turns out great quantities of something in a mechanical fashion can be a mill (puppy mill, rumor mill, diploma mill).
A small device for grinding is also a mill (salt mill, pepper mill, coffee mill).
If you mill something, you grind or crush it.
If people are milling around, they’re walking around aimlessly.
