reaper
Grim cloaked collector
A reaper is a person or machine that harvests grain or other crops by cutting them down.
The word appears in grim reaper, the skeletal, scythe-wielding personification of death who harvests souls as a farmer harvests wheat.
Outside agriculture and death imagery, reaper occasionally describes anyone who collects consequences: a reaper of rewards, a reaper of what was sown.
