Hands-on learning gathering
A workshop is a room or building where things are made or repaired—a carpenter's workshop, an auto repair workshop.
The word extends to intensive educational sessions where participants work together on a skill or topic: a writing workshop, a leadership workshop.
As a verb, to workshop something is to develop it through collaborative critique: We workshopped the script before filming.
