objects

Raises a protest

Objects are things—physical items you can see or touch, or more abstractly, anything that can be perceived or thought about.

In grammar, an object receives the action of a verb: The dog chased the ball.

To object (stress on second syllable) is to express disapproval or opposition: She objected to the proposal.

An objection is the noun form.

The phrase object of affection refers to someone who is loved or desired.
