speck
Tiny visible bit
A speck is a tiny spot or particle—a speck of dust, a speck of dirt, a speck of blood.
By extension, it describes anything insignificantly small: The boat was just a speck on the horizon.
To speck something is to mark it with small spots, though this verb form is rare.
