HTML

Browser's native tongue

HTML stands for HyperText Markup Language, the standard code used to structure content on web pages.

HTML uses tags—instructions enclosed in angle brackets—to define elements like headings, paragraphs, links, and images: The page wouldn't load because of a missing HTML tag.

Nearly every website is built on HTML, often combined with CSS for styling and JavaScript for interactivity.
