JVM
Java runtime engine
JVM stands for Java Virtual Machine, the software layer that executes Java programs.
Rather than compiling directly to machine code, Java compiles to bytecode that runs on the JVM, allowing the same program to work on any platform with a compatible JVM installed.
This "write once, run anywhere" portability made Java popular for enterprise and cross-platform development.
The JVM also manages memory allocation and garbage collection.
