flipbook
Riffled paper animation
A flipbook is a small book with a series of images that, when pages are rapidly flipped with the thumb, create the illusion of animation.
Each page shows a slightly different position, so the sequence appears to move: She made a flipbook of a stick figure doing a backflip.
The format demonstrates the basic principle behind film and animation.
