3D animation
Computer-generated motion pictures
3D animation is the process of creating moving images in a three-dimensional digital environment.
Unlike traditional animation, which draws flat images frame by frame, 3D animation builds objects with virtual depth that can be rotated, lit, and viewed from any angle.
Characters and scenes are modeled, rigged with digital skeletons, then animated by manipulating their positions over time.
The technique dominates feature films, video games, and visual effects: Pixar pioneered 3D animation with Toy Story.
