pinball machine
Bumper-filled arcade game
A pinball machine is an arcade game where players use flippers to keep a metal ball in play on a sloped, glass-covered playfield studded with bumpers, targets, and obstacles that score points when struck.
The game ends when the ball drains past the flippers.
Pinball machines were fixtures of arcades and bars before home video games displaced them: He spent his allowance on the pinball machine at the bowling alley.
