monofin

Unified flipper for freediving

A monofin is a single swimming fin that encases both feet together, used primarily in finswimming competitions and for training the dolphin kick in swimming.

Unlike traditional swim fins worn separately on each foot, the monofin's joined blade forces the legs to move in unison, producing a powerful undulating motion through the water.

Freedivers and mermaiding enthusiasts also use monofins for their efficiency and mermaid-tail aesthetic.
