Electronic calculating devices
Computers are electronic machines that process information according to instructions.
The term once meant people who performed calculations—human computers—but now refers almost exclusively to the devices.
Desktop computers, laptop computers, and the computers in smartphones all share the essential function: taking input, processing it, and producing output.
