automobiles
Cars and trucks
Automobiles is the plural of automobile, a self-propelled vehicle designed for passenger transportation on roads—essentially a formal term for cars.
The word appears more often in technical, legal, or historical contexts than in everyday speech: the automobile industry, automobile insurance.
Most people just say cars.
