colophon

Book's closing statement

A colophon is a statement at the end of a book containing information about its production—the typeface, paper, printer, or publication date.

Originally placed on the final page of manuscripts and early printed books, colophons now appear in front matter or on copyright pages.

Publishers also use colophon for their logo or emblem: The colophon of a running dog appears on the spine.
