author
Novelist or essayist
An author is someone who writes—especially books, articles, or other substantial works.
The term carries more weight than "writer," suggesting completed, published work: the author of three novels, a best-selling author.
Author also extends to anyone who creates or originates something: the author of the plan.
As a verb, to author is to write or create: She authored the report.
