cerebral artery

Cranial blood channel

A cerebral artery is any of the arteries that supply blood to the brain.

The major ones—anterior, middle, and posterior cerebral arteries—branch from the arterial circle at the base of the brain and serve different regions.

Blockage or rupture of a cerebral artery causes stroke: The scan revealed a clot in the middle cerebral artery.
