parietal lobe

Sensory processing center

The parietal lobe is one of four major divisions of each hemisphere of the brain, located behind the frontal lobe and above the temporal lobe.

It processes sensory information—touch, temperature, spatial awareness, and the integration of senses that lets you know where your body is in space.

Damage can cause difficulty with navigation, object recognition, or even awareness of one side of the body.
