ischemia
Tissue oxygen shortage
Ischemia is inadequate blood supply to an organ or tissue, typically caused by a blocked or narrowed artery.
The affected area is starved of oxygen and nutrients.
Cardiac ischemia affects the heart muscle and can lead to chest pain or heart attack.
Cerebral ischemia in the brain can cause stroke.
The patient showed signs of ischemia during the stress test.
