hemiparesis
One-sided muscle weakness
Hemiparesis is weakness on one side of the body, typically resulting from stroke, brain injury, or neurological disease.
Unlike hemiplegia, which is complete paralysis, hemiparesis leaves some voluntary movement intact: The stroke left her with hemiparesis affecting her left arm and leg.
Physical therapy often helps recover function.
