animatic
Rough animation draft
An animatic is a rough preliminary version of an animated film or video, consisting of storyboard images edited together with timing and soundtrack to preview pacing and flow before full animation begins.
It's essentially a moving storyboard: We screened the animatic to test whether the action sequence worked.
Animatics help identify problems early, when changes are still cheap.
