Nickelodeon

Children's cable network

Nickelodeon is an American cable television network aimed at children and teenagers, launched in 1979.

It became synonymous with youth entertainment through shows like *Rugrats*, *SpongeBob SquarePants*, and *iCarly*.

The name evokes the cheap, accessible entertainment of early nickelodeon theaters: My kids watch Nickelodeon every afternoon. (Lowercase nickelodeon is an early movie theater or coin-operated music machine.)
