belly
Torso's soft center
The belly is the front part of the human body between the chest and the pelvis, containing the stomach and intestines.
It's an informal or affectionate alternative to the more clinical abdomen: a full belly, belly button, beer belly.
The word extends to any bulging or rounded underside, like the belly of a ship or an aircraft.
To belly up means to move close to something, typically a bar or counter: We bellied up and ordered drinks.
If something goes belly up, it fails completely, like a dead fish floating upside down.
