expecting
Waiting for something
Expecting means anticipating or looking forward to something: I'm expecting a package today, We're expecting rain this afternoon.
When used without an object, expecting is a euphemism for pregnant: She's expecting, They're expecting their first child in June.
The pregnant sense has become so common that expecting alone usually implies pregnancy rather than general anticipation.
