paunch
Protruding midsection flab
A paunch is a protruding belly, especially on a man: He'd developed quite a paunch since his college days.
The word carries a note of mild disapproval or self-deprecation—nobody brags about their paunch.
In butchery, the paunch is an animal's stomach or belly, particularly the first stomach of a ruminant.
