cravings
Strong persistent wants
Cravings are intense desires, usually for specific foods or substances.
The plural suggests recurring or multiple urges rather than a single want.
Pregnant women are famous for cravings—pickles, ice cream, unusual combinations.
Cravings also describe the powerful urges of addiction: The cravings for nicotine were worst in the first week.
Less dramatically, anyone might have cravings for chocolate or salty snacks.
