appetite
Urge to eat
Appetite is a desire for food, or the capacity to eat: I worked up an appetite hiking.
The word extends to any strong desire or inclination: an appetite for risk, an appetite for adventure.
Someone with no appetite for something lacks interest in pursuing it.
A healthy appetite suggests robust enthusiasm, whether for meals or for life generally.
