starved

Craving any morsel

Starved is the past and participle of the verb starve.

Starved usually characterizes a person who is extremely hungry, either in the literal sense, as in the children are starved, or in a figurative sense, where the thing craved is not food: he’s starved for attention.

If you are starved of something, that thing is not available or accessible to you: The country is starved of hard currency.
