Rockies
Continental Divide's spine
The Rockies is the informal name for the Rocky Mountains, the major mountain range running from Canada through the western United States to New Mexico.
The term appears constantly in weather reports, travel writing, and regional identity: We're heading to the Rockies this summer.
The Rockies is also short for the Colorado Rockies, Denver's Major League Baseball team. (Lowercase rockies is a rare plural of rocky.)
