Catalina Island
Avalon's home island
Catalina Island is a rocky island off the Southern California coast, about twenty-two miles from Los Angeles.
Officially named Santa Catalina Island, it's a popular destination for day trips, camping, and diving.
The town of Avalon draws most visitors.
We took the ferry to Catalina for the weekend.
