NorCal
Above the Grapevine
NorCal is informal shorthand for Northern California, the region roughly from the San Francisco Bay Area northward.
The term carries regional identity and often implies contrast with SoCal (Southern California): I grew up in NorCal but moved to LA for work.
NorCal connotes redwood forests, tech culture, and wine country rather than beaches and Hollywood.
