Central California is the middle portion of California, roughly between the San Francisco Bay Area and Los Angeles.
The term most often refers to the Central Valley—the vast agricultural basin including the San Joaquin and Sacramento valleys—though it sometimes extends to adjacent coastal and foothill regions.
Fresno is the largest city in Central California.
