Savoy

Italian royal house

Savoy is a historical region in the western Alps, now divided between France and Italy.

The House of Savoy ruled the region and eventually unified Italy in the 19th century.

Savoy also names several hotels and theaters, most famously London's Savoy Theatre, home to Gilbert and Sullivan operettas. (Lowercase savoy is a type of cabbage.)
