green cabbage
Pale cruciferous head
Green cabbage is the most common variety of cabbage, with tightly packed pale green leaves forming a dense round head.
It's the default cabbage in most Western cooking—coleslaw, sauerkraut, stuffed cabbage, corned beef and cabbage.
The outer leaves are darker green; inner leaves are nearly white.
Pick up a head of green cabbage at the store.
